The energy consumption of the country is 100 billion dollars per year.
Deputy Minister of Energy: Mahmoud Kamani, during the signing ceremony of the memorandum of cooperation with the Iranian Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, added: The Iranian Renewable Energy and Electricity Efficiency Organization is trying to compile this document so that it can be used. Compilation of this document requires a pilot, which it is hoped will be taken by the research organization in this zone.

He continued: Hydrogen has various uses, including petrochemical power and steel, and the green hydrogen sector is used in electric power; If green hydrogen is implemented, the country's electricity economy will be transformed.
The Deputy Minister of Energy highlighted the country's electricity imbalance and said: In the past two years, we have not had any power cuts in the household sector with the actions of the Ministry of Energy, but the imbalance is detrimental.
Stating that last year's peak load was 69,500 megawatts, Kamani said: This year's peak load reached 72,500, which is up about 3,000 megawatts, which is a significant number.
He continued: One of the solutions to resolve the power imbalance is the development of a power plant, which cannot be implemented due to the fuel limitation of the power plant.
The head of the Renewable Energy and Electricity Productivity Organization called the next solution to pay attention to renewable energy and said: The third solution which is more important is to pay attention to consumption management.
We consume about $100 billion of energy in the country every year
Stating that we consume about $100 billion of energy in the country every year and we are not in a good position in terms of consumption intensity, Kamani pointed out: There is a capacity of about $3 billion in consumption optimization in the country, which has received less attention.
Stating that we have failed to implement optimization so far, he said: Energy pricing is one of the factors for this failure.
The Deputy Minister of Energy emphasized standardization as an effective optimization solution and noted: So far, standardization has not received much attention.
Kamani said: Some of the country's energy standards were compiled 10 years ago when they needed to be updated.
16 million incandescent bulbs were produced in one year
Stating that last year 16 million incandescent lamps were produced in the country, he continued: This quantity of lamps places a heavy load on the network.
The head of the Renewable Energy Organization said: The Ministry of Energy has taken good steps in the area of reform and optimization of consumption.
Komani cited the change in the standard for water coolers as an example of the measures and said: new standards for other appliances will be compiled and made mandatory over time.
He continued: “The creation of new power plants requires a lot of investment, while the management of consumption can be reduced at a lower cost.
The Deputy Minister of Energy highlighted the standardization efforts and said: The implementation of this task requires a proper laboratory so that the standard formulation can be implemented quickly.
