The tripartite meeting to connect the power grids of Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia was held in Moscow in the presence of the deputy energy ministers of the three countries.
 

According to a report, the Iranian Embassy in Russia announced in an article: “Homayon Haeri”, the Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy, led a delegation with the aim of attending the meeting tripartite to connect the power grids of the three countries of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation today. He traveled to Moscow on Thursday 19 August.
During this meeting, which was held in the presence of the Deputy Ministers of Energy of the three countries of Iran, Russia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the latest technical measures of the coordination countries for the best implementation project implementation were reviewed and a final exchange of views took place.
Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Minister of Energy, announced at the end of July: We will soon start exchanging electricity with Russia via Azerbaijan.
Connection to the Russian electricity grid via Armenia and Georgia is also on the agenda.
He announced: We are trying to connect the country's electricity grid to all countries in the region, this will make the grid more stable and provide more electricity at different times of the year, as well as when needed. less electricity, so that we can use power plants economically and use their maximum capacity.
If our grid is connected to the Russian grid, considering that Russia's peak consumption is in winter and our peak consumption is in summer, we can import electricity in summer and export electricity in winter.
Not long ago, "Vladimir Novikov", the head of the Caucasus department of the Russian Commonwealth of Nations Institute, also spoke about this electricity exchange program and announced that: thanks to this energy bridge, Iran can sustainably supply the electricity needed for its northern regions, and in some exchanges the energy received at other times of the year.
If this energy bridge is implemented, it will lead Iran and Russia to strengthen their role in solving regional problems by using the capacity of countries in the region, and moreover, it will be effective in reducing the existing problems in relations between Russia and Georgia. .
