Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia's Council of Ministers has announced that Riyadh is eager to begin a new phase of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 

Saudi Arabia's Council of Ministers, headed by King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, discussed restoring relations between the country and the Islamic Republic of Iran during a cabinet meeting held on Tuesday afternoon at the Salam Palace in Jeddah.
   The Council of Ministers in Riyadh reviewed the measures taken in the framework of the implementation of the agreement on the resumption of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the investiture of the ambassadors of the two countries, and expressed its desire to begin a new phase of relations with Iran based on declared common interests and mutual respect.
This comes as Hossein Amir Abdullahian, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited Saudi Arabia on Thursday leading a delegation and in response to the invitation of his Saudi counterpart. During this trip, he met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and opportunities for cooperation between the two sides as well as ways to promote and develop it.
