He added: If we come to the point of comparison, this amount of water is equivalent to approximately 70% of the drinking water or a significant part of the water in the agricultural sector of Isfahan province.
The Minister of Energy continued: With the implementation of this project, the surface and groundwater resources of Isfahan province can be further used in the agricultural sector, thus opening up the resources and uses of the region .
According to IRNA, the implementation of the second phase of the water transfer project from the Arabian Sea to Isfahan province began today, Friday, in the presence of the President.
Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi also visited the implementation process and progress of the first phase of the water transfer line from the Arabian Sea to Isfahan.
Through the implementation of this project, 70 million cubic meters of water will be transferred to Isfahan in the first stage and 400 million cubic meters in the next stage.
The execution of the first phase of this project started in Mehr 1401, which is being completed under the 13th government and is currently completed in 24 active points with the presence of 14 contractors.
The length of the Arabian Sea to Isfahan water transfer project is 980 km, and so far 520 km have been released, 420 km have been drilled and 214 km have been laid.
The transfer of water from the Arabian Sea is part of the Zayandeh Rood River revival plan, with the implementation of the first stage, the withdrawal of water from Zayandeh Rood by industries will be stopped, and in the second stage, in addition to industrial activities. water, the surplus water will be used for drinking, agriculture and environmental protection.
The implementation of this project will only aim to supply water to existing industries in the province, and the development plan for aquifer industrial units is not on the agenda.
In the explanation of this project, the Deputy Coordinator of Civil Affairs of Isfahan Governorate said: In the first stage, 70 million cubic meters of water will be transferred from the Arabian Sea, and in the second stage , 400 million cubic meters of water will be transferred. be transferred to Isfahan.
Mehran Zainlian announced the implementation cost of the first phase of the project at 25.5 billion tomans and the second phase at 113 billion tomans and added: All implementation costs of these two phases will be covered by the major industries of the province of Isfahan.
He clarified: The first phase of the project started in September last year, and now 14 contractors are working on 24 work fronts over this distance of 520 kilometers, and it is planned that the first phase will be implemented from here the end of the year.
