Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have agreed to build a railway line in Iran that will connect Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan region of that country.
 

According to TASS, Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have agreed to build a railway line in Iran that will connect Azerbaijan with that country's Nakhichevan region.
The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding after Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazarpash met in Baku.
Details of the deal were not disclosed.
On Friday, Mustafayev and Bazarpash took part in the construction ceremony of the Azerbaijan-Iran road bridge and border crossing near the town of Aghband.
According to Azerbaijani media, these measures aim to increase transit through these countries and access to Nakhichevan.
The construction of this bridge is part of the memorandum of understanding between the governments of Iran and Azerbaijan aimed at establishing new connections between the East Zangzor economic zone in Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan via Iran.
The Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister also said that this project should be completed within a year.
