The performance of South Pars refineries under the microscope for 25 years.
The CEO of South Pars Gas Complex announced: Since the creation of this complex, 1.96 trillion cubic meters of natural gas have been sweetened in its refineries and transferred to national pipelines.

Referring to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the South Pars gas complex, Ahmad Bahoush said: This complex was established on October 28, 1377 as one of the subsidiaries of the National Iran Gas Company and was responsible for the operation of the facilities terrestrial of the multiple phases of the South Pars gas field.
He said the first official production and sweetening of natural gas began from the second South Pars refinery (phases 2 and 3) in 1380, adding: at that time, 50 million cubic meters of feed were received from the South Pars platforms. common field and 40 million cubic meters per day of natural gas were produced and sweetened.
According to the CEO of South Pars Gas Complex, at that time, 80,000 barrels of gas condensate and 400 tons of sulfur were produced daily.
Daily production of 580 million cubic meters in 1402
Highlighting the significant development of the 13 South Pars refineries over these 25 years, Bahoush said: The feed received by the complex from the well platforms of this joint field is now 650 million cubic meters per day, including 580 million cubic meters of natural gas. is sweetened, produced and transferred to national lines in refineries.
Earn money by producing by-products
Referring to the supply of 75% of the country's gas production from South Pars, he announced the production and export of by-products from this complex and said: Moreover, in order to earn foreign exchange for the country, 780,000 barrels of gas are now needed. of condensate, 15,000 tons of ethane, 15,000 tons of propane, 10,000 tons of butane and 2,500 tons of sulfur are produced at the South Pars refineries.
In response to a question about the production of natural gas in this complex for 25 years, the CEO of the South Pars gas complex said: During this period, 2,340 billion cubic meters of gas were received from the platforms of wells of the South Pars common field. , and 1,960 billion cubic meters of natural gas were sweetened and transferred to national lines.
Delivery of 31 million tonnes of ethane to petrochemicals
According to Bahosh's explanation, during these 25 years, 2 billion 800 million barrels of gas condensate were produced, 25 million tons of propane, 16 million tons of butane and 1 million tons of sulfur were exported. and 31 million tonnes of ethane was delivered to the country's petrochemical industry.
According to Shana, South Pars Gas Complex was established in the towns of Asalouye and Kangan in Bushehr province on the Persian Gulf coast in the form of two industrial sites, and in addition to production services of gas, entering the social domain. responsibility, significant and effective measures have been taken within the region's Ministry of Culture, Education, Health, Employment and Environmental Protection.
The location of the gas refineries is at sites 1 and 2, which in Asalouye and Kangan towns comprise 24 gas phases, which are phases 1 to 10 and 15 to 21 in site 1 (Asalouye) and the phases 11 to 14, phase 19 and phases 22 to 24 in site 2 (Kangan) are located.
The South Pars gas field, located in the territorial waters of Iran and Qatar and shared between the two countries, with an area of 9,700 square kilometers and a depth of 3,000 meters below the seabed, is the largest gas field in the world. , which is 105 kilometers from the coast of Bandar Asalouye.
Its Iranian part covers an area of 3,700 square kilometers and its reserves amount to 14,000 billion cubic meters of gas and 17 billion barrels of gas condensate, the equivalent of 8% of the world's gas and mineral reserves. 50% of the country's gas reserves. In terms of material resources, this area is considered the most important and valuable economic resource and a huge and unique national treasure.
