Iran enters shale oil market for the first time.
Director of Exploration of the Iranian National Oil Company: The presence of oil shale in the Qalikouh region of Aligudarz is a great success for the country, which will allow Iran to enter the oil shale market for the first time.

During a visit to the oil field in Aliguderz city, Mehdi Fekur told reporters: 15 years of studies and field work have been carried out in this area of Aliguderz city, and various teams of trekking have been present in this area and have taken samples and carried out the necessary tests, the result is to be able to harvest this field in the field.
Pointing out that there are two types of oil shale, he added: one type of these shale is underground, which must be dug to a depth of 1,200 meters and extracted with very expensive methods, and the extracted oil has a value added 30 to 40 dollars. This may result in economic extraction, but God has given us this blessing on earth in this region.
Referring to the quality of Qalikouh shale compared to American shale and other countries with oil shale and technology, Fakour said: field investigations and laboratory work with the participation of the Institute of Tehran Oil were completed, the laboratory sample was passed and the method used. Its semi-industrial sample measuring 10 kilos was also found to continuously carry oil, oil condensate and gas.
He continued: In cities like Ahvaz, we have to drill to a depth of 2,500 meters to reach oil, while in this region of Qalikowe, Aligudarz, the same oil is on the ground.
The Director of Exploration of the Iranian National Oil Company, referring to two methods of extracting oil in this region, said: One of the methods is mining, which must be extracted from mines on the ground, and the other method is industrial extraction in However, researchers at the Institute of Exploration and Petroleum have found a new method that can use Iranian oil shale and will be registered globally.
Fekur added: The semi-industrial plant was built in this way and it extracts oil, condensate and accompanying gas, which has a very high price in the international economy and will be a good economic aid for the country, and it is expected that the country will recover from oil, gas and gas condensate to be self-sufficient.
He said that with this great success of the Asami Republic, it entered the oil shale market for the first time and was imported until the construction of the semi-industrial plant, which we do not we didn't have.
Referring to the economic estimates of these shales for the country, Fekur said: aerial and satellite photos are needed for the calculations, and speculations were made up to a depth of 300 meters and a well was dug, now it must see that What is the depth of the capacity?
Stressing that the quality of oil in this region should be increased and after that real production should begin, he added: We hope that in the next 2-3 months the technical and economic report will be given to us through from the Tehran Petroleum Institute. Academic and operational measures will be launched.
Fekur said: The remaining waste from these shale is very pure and friendly to nature and the environment, and this waste can be used in various industries such as cement or returned to its original place as soil.
Regarding job creation from these oil shale for the region, he said: It is expected that around three thousand people will be employed directly, indirectly and in three ways, which will certainly be a priority for the local forces of the region.
