Tariffs on 87% of goods traded between Iran and Eurasia will be reduced to zero.
The Vice President for International Affairs Promotion of the Iranian Trade Development Organization said: With the signing of the final document of the free trade agreement, 87% of the commercial goods tariff code of Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union will be zero.
 

Seyyed Mohammadsadegh Qanadzadeh, deputy director of international trade promotion at the Trade Development Organization, said: After more than 3 years and more than 30 rounds of negotiations, the final document of the free trade agreement between the Iran and the member countries of the Eurasian Union has been published. presented today on the sidelines of the summit of this union in St. Petersburg, Russia will be signed by the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of our country and the ministers of Commerce of the 5 member countries of this union.
Qanadzadeh added: The free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Union will be applicable after approval by the parliaments of the signatory countries.
With the implementation of this agreement, customs duties on 87% of trade goods between Iran and the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union will be zero.
He said: This agreement is Iran's first multilateral free trade agreement, and it is expected that with its implementation, our country's trade with the member countries of this union could reach 18 to 20 billion dollars over the next five years.
Referring to the implementation of the preferential trade agreement between Iran and the five member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, Qanadzadeh said: Before signing the free trade agreement, the preferential trade agreement between Iran and Eurasian countries had been implemented since 1998.
Over the past two to three years, with the implementation of the preferential trade agreement, the volume of our trade with the member countries of the Eurasian Union has doubled.
