A tripartite free zone will be established between Iran, Iraq and Syria.
Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Commercial, Industrial and Special Economic Zones: We are negotiating with 21 countries to create a common free zone and we have reached an agreement with five countries, including Syria and Iraq.
 

"Hujtollah Abdul Maliki", the President's Advisor, raised the issue of the joint free zone in an interview and added: Iran is pursuing the creation of a joint free zone with other countries, but it is also pursuing a joint tripartite free zone, which the negotiating parties, Iraq and Syria.
He stressed: The increase in investments will be achieved through the creation of a tripartite free zone between Iran, Syria and Iraq, and we are following this issue in the international economy.
Stating that we are currently negotiating with 21 countries to establish a common free zone, Abdul Maleki said: So far, we have reached the stage of signing a document with five countries, which is either in the form of a memorandum of understanding, be included in the text of the approvals of the joint commission.
According to him, we have discussed with the countries of Iraq and Syria to establish a common free zone, and the negotiating parties have expressed their agreement in this regard, and we are waiting for a tripartite meeting.
The Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Commercial, Industrial and Special Economic Zones added: The point considered for this purpose is one of the last elements that made it possible to get rid of ISIS, but now security is established there and the transit is done there without problem.
He said: The creation of a common free zone will benefit all three countries and greatly facilitate Iran's access to the Mediterranean region.
