Iran reached highest level of electricity trade in Middle East.
Based on the reports made; Electricity is one of the basic needs of today's societies, and different countries around the world are trying in one way or another to capture a significant share of the region's market while increasing their production capacity with a strong presence in the field of energy diplomacy.

In the Middle East region, electricity exchanges with different trade balances are taking place.
Surveys on the trade balance of electricity exchanges between Iran's neighboring countries show that some countries in the region have a negative trade balance and others have a positive trade balance.
For example, Iran's eastern neighbors Pakistan and Afghanistan, as well as western neighbor Iraq, are among the neighbors that have turned to importing electricity due to the imbalance between production and consumption of electricity and have a negative trade balance in this regard.
According to statistics and information from the International Energy Agency (IEA), Iraq imports only 9 terawatt hours of electricity each year, and the country's electricity generation capacity is not sufficient to be able to export, it therefore has a negative trade balance of 9 terawatt hours per year.
Pakistan is also not active in the field of electricity export and with 5. The hourly rate of electricity import shows a negative balance in this regard.
Afghanistan also has a negative balance in the electricity trade sector with 5.5 terawatt hours of imports per year.
Turkey, however, has different conditions, and it exports 4.1 terawatt hours of electricity per year and also imports 2.3 terawatt hours, which explains the positive trade balance of this country and 1.8 terawatt hours of electricity.
Similar to Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have a positive trade balance in the field of electrical industry and have a positive trade balance of 0.6.1 .52, 3.2, 0.2 and 0.04 terawatt hours of electricity. , respectively.
Explaining that Armenia exports 1 terawatt hour of electricity and imports 0.4 terawatts, Azerbaijan has 1.6 exports and 0.15 imports.
Additionally, Turkmenistan exports only 3.2 terawatt hours of electricity without importing.
The UAE is also active in electricity trading with 0.67 terawatt hours of exports and 0.87 imports, with a positive balance of 0.2.
Saudi Arabia also has a positive balance of 0.04 in electricity trade with 0.35 terawatt hours of exports and 0.31 terawatt hours of imports.
Meanwhile, Iran's conditions are completely different from those of neighboring countries and the region, and with 5.5 terawatt hours of electricity export and 3 terawatt hours of electricity import, Iran has the highest electricity trade balance in the region and has a positive trade balance. of 2.5, which is far from other neighboring countries.
This is despite the fact that Iran, in its electricity exchanges with neighboring countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, always observes the precondition of reducing the amount of exports during peak domestic consumption days, it that is, the hot season of the year, and during these days, the export of electricity to neighboring countries is reduced to a minimum and, on the other hand, this increases the amount of imports .
According to this report, Iran is also planning to trade electricity with Turkey and Russia and is trying to increase the trade balance of its electricity trade in the coming years compared to current figures.
