FAO's program to make Iran the center of food security for countries in the region.
The Deputy Minister of Agricultural Jihad for Management Development and Human Resources said: With the cooperation of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Iran is becoming the center of food security in the region.
 

Hoshang Mohammadi, on the sidelines of the thirty-fourth meeting of the Sirdap Executive Committee (EC-34) in Thailand, in a meeting with the Director General of Sirdap, highlighted the commitment of the Islamic Republic of Iran to deepen and increase cooperation with Sirdap and added: during meetings held with the Deputy Secretary-General of FAO and the Director-General of the Center for Integrated Rural Development of Asia and the Pacific (SIRDAP), he suggested that the Republic Islamic Republic of Iran is at the center of the food security system of the countries of the region according to the development of the document on food security based on the knowledge of our country.
The Deputy Minister of Agricultural Jihad for Human Resources Management and Development Affairs said: This issue was well received and Iran's request is expected to be included in the agenda of the review sessions of FAO.
He said: If this happens and FAO provides the necessary support, our country will be able to activate the food security production units of the countries in the region.
Referring to the decision of the FAO after the selection of the representative director in Iran, Mohammadi clarified: After the approval of this event, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations will take the necessary measures to invest and transfer technical knowledge and scientific discoveries.
The Deputy Director for Resource Management and Development of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad also presented a report on grain production, animal husbandry, greenhouse production, fisheries and aquaculture development and announced the will of the Islamic Republic of Iran to transfer the experiences of farmers and experts. in the agricultural sector.
Iran is one of the full member countries of the Sirdap Center
Director General of SIRDAP (Integrated Rural Development Center for Asia and the Pacific) in meeting with Hoshang Mohammadi, Deputy Minister of Agricultural Jihad for Management and Human Resources Development, on the sidelines of the 34th meeting of the Executive Committee of SIRDAP (EC-34) held in Thailand, said: Iran is one of the effective countries within the Center for Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (SIRDAP).
He also announced Iran's willingness to transfer its experiences, studies and rural development policies to other countries.
Iran's food security efforts are laudable
John Kim, Assistant Secretary-General and Director-General of FAO's Asia and Pacific Regional Office, also praised Iran's efforts towards food security in a meeting with Deputy Director for Management Development and resources of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad in Thailand.
During this meeting, he considered Iran as a country with extraordinary capacity in terms of human and agricultural technical force for food security and expressed hope to strengthen relations with FAO.
It was also decided to introduce an FAO representative to the Islamic Republic as soon as possible and take effective measures to strengthen interactions and resolve food security challenges.
According to this report, the 34th Executive Committee Meeting (EC-34) of the Center for Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) kicked off today for two days in Bangkok, Thailand.
Sirdap is an interstate and international center established in 1978 with the approval of FAO. The purpose of its creation is to share experiences, conduct studies and research, as well as assist member countries in developing policies and implementing rural development programs.
Sirdap currently has 15 countries in the Asia and Pacific region. The Islamic Republic of Iran has been a member of this center since 2004 with the law approved by the Islamic Council.
The three political pillars of the Center are the Technical Committee (TC), the Executive Committee (EC) and the Board of Directors (GC).
The Research Institute was introduced by the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad as the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the technical committee and executive committee. He is also the Minister of Agricultural Jihad and the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Board of Governors.
Sirdap member countries now include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka , Thailand and Vietnam; Additionally, the 24th meeting of the Sirdap Board of Governors will be held on Thursday, June 17 in Bangkok, Thailand.
