Iran has become a supervisory member of the Financial Reporting Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Secretary of the Higher Council for the Prevention and Fight against Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism: Following appropriate measures in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, Iran became a member of the Supervisory Board of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units.
 

At this meeting, representatives of the countries of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, the Secretariat and the Executive Committee of the Council of the Commonwealth of Nations, the Coordinating Office for Combating Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Crimes in the Commonwealth of Nations, the Regional Group for the Fight against Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism (EAG) of Eurasia and several other regional organizations were present.
According to this report, the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the Commonwealth of Nations (CHFIU) at the initiative of the Commonwealth of Independent States on December 5, 2012, with the aim of establishing a coordinating body within the Commonwealth of Nations to ensure the organization and coordination of the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT). The aforementioned council submits its reports to the Council of Chiefs of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
