The link between Iran and Saudi Arabia in Johannesburg .
Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia and Argentina have been invited to join the bloc as major developing countries try to shape an alternative to the Western world order through the BRICS group.

At the same time, countries such as Iran and Saudi Arabia have long expressed their desire to join this group.
What is the reason for this desire to join the BRICS group? Al-Monitor wrote in an article: Currently, the BRICS include Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, which is hosting the summit of this group in Johannesburg this week.
This group currently represents around 40% of the world's population and a quarter of the world's gross domestic product.
As EcoIran reports, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the new members on the last day of the summit (Thursday).
He wrote on Twitter: The BRICS are a diverse group of countries.
This group is an equal partnership of countries that have different points of view but share a common vision for a better world.
Before announcing the new countries, Ramaphosa added, "As five BRICS members, we have agreed on the principles, standards, criteria and procedures of the BRICS expansion process."
Chinese President Xi Jinping also called the increase in membership "historic".
He added, “This expansion is a new starting point for BRICS cooperation.
This gives new strength to the BRICS cooperation mechanism and strengthens the strength of world peace and development.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter: India has always supported BRICS expansion.
India has always believed that adding new members would strengthen the BRICS.
New members will officially join the group on January 1, 2024.
The New Development Bank or "BRICS Bank", headquartered in Shanghai, has already accepted the United Arab Emirates and Egypt as shareholders.
Saudi Arabia and Algeria have also expressed interest in becoming shareholders.
According to South African officials, this expansion could make it easier for other countries to join the group, and according to South African officials, more than 40 countries have expressed interest in joining BRICS, and 22 countries have officially applied to join. the block.
Many countries want to join the BRICS because they believe that joining this alliance will bring benefits such as financing for development and increased investment, as well as security guarantees.
Ramaphosa and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva announced that they were ready to accept new members of the group in the future.
Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the United Arab Emirates, welcomed his country's invitation to join the BRICS.
“We look forward to continuing to work together for the prosperity, dignity and benefit of all nations and peoples around the world,” he wrote on Twitter.
The BRICS summit kicked off on Tuesday with the presence of political leaders from four of the five member countries.
Vladimir Putin did not attend the summit because of his arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for his role in the war in Ukraine.
Instead, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov attended the meeting.
Since the creation of the BRICS in 2010, the economic performance of the members has varied.
Much of its steady growth has come from China and India, as in recent years Russia has been under sanctions and Brazil and South Africa have both experienced political instability which has hampered their savings.
But as the rift between China, Russia and the United States widens, the bloc increasingly opposes the West.
