Following the explanation of this proposed plan regarding the establishment of the North-South Corridor Secretariat, the division of national labor was seen as an important measure in the perspective of more effective pursuit of the demands of the private sector by the head of the Iranian Chamber. .
He said that with the implementation of this model, each issue should be followed by its specialized body, which is why addressing the issue of the North-South Corridor by the Maritime Association can have positive effects .
Attention to the importance of the North-South corridor and the passage of approximately 23 years since the initial project to create this corridor was the central issue of this meeting. According to members of the board of directors of the Iran Shipping Association, this corridor is very important for Russia and the last chance to complete it has been given to the country.
On the other hand, Russia is very keen to contribute to the completion of this corridor. On the other hand, it should be noted that this corridor is built and only needs to be renovated.
In the meantime, the first step is education, to which Russia has declared itself ready to impart the necessary knowledge.
Secondly, we must improve the processes of transporting goods from the ports of origin to the destination.
After that, we enter the investment phase.
But unfortunately, the government suddenly entered the investment phase, independently of previous phases.
It should be noted that in the process of achieving this corridor we must manage the supply chain and, in this regard, measures are included in the work program of the association and, to do this, we need support from the Iranian House. .
During this meeting, Masoud Pelmeh, secretary of the maritime association, explained the process of establishing the association in recent years and spoke about the association's main mission of following the needs of companies in this field .
According to his statements, the number of members of the association is currently 400 and, thanks to the services provided by the association, the possibilities for increasing the number of members are well-prepared.
The activity of the arbitration center within the framework of this association is one of the important services provided. In addition, the largest port education center in the Middle East in terms of content was established under the Iran Shipping Association.
This economic activist further highlighted the area of logistics activities in the Caspian Sea and the challenges that exist.
According to Pelmeh's statement, the government is striving to complete the north-south corridor as quickly as possible; But this question requires careful planning.
Shipping containers on this route are not competitive in terms of time and cost.
Of course, the private sector has suggestions and solutions to solve this problem, which require government support to implement.
He also spoke about the proposal to create a joint transport company with Russia and said: "During the recent trip of the association's board of directors to Russia, we made such a proposal, which was well received by the Russian side.
The Secretary of the Iranian Shipping and Related Industries Association added: We also proposed the establishment of the North-South Corridor Secretariat, so that within its framework we can create an integrated system in the field of shipping and facilitate access to information in this area Possible.
Pelmeh criticized the three-fold increase in customs tariffs related to this area this year and said: This government action leads to an increase in transport tariffs, an increase in the cost of goods and a challenge to exports.
He also stressed the need for meritocracy to improve the transport situation in all its areas, including specialized associations, and demanded improving the level of performance of the private sector through improving the activities of organizations and associations .
